When your jaw hurts
The masseter muscle is one of the strongest muscles in humans. It is therefore not surprising that a deformity of the jaw - and thus pressure of the jawline - over many years can lead to significant health problems, especially in the area of the jaw bone. Dentists refer to this condition as craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD). CMD symptoms may include teeth grinding at night, dizziness, blurred vision and diverse muscle tensions.
To bring the interaction of all the components of the masticatory system into harmony again requires a comprehensive diagnosis. An individually measured mouthpiece provides noticeable relief here: patients who wear such a splint at night feel more rested in the morning and more powerful.
